As our Engineers are on site servicing they tend to notice a few things that would benefit many of our customers. Here are some hints and tips to help you prepare your machine for hibernation – at any time of year but especially when getting ready for winter.
- Empty and Clean your machine – your user manual will give you all the info to do this easily. A machine left full of substrate will shorten its working life. We recommend a plastic shovel, an industrial hoover and an airline.
- Check for Blockages – debris can easily get caught in machinery – removing these now can avoid damage when you restart your machine
- Grease and lubricate bearings and chains. When you’ve done this it is worthwhile running the machine for 10-15 minutes
- Clear any dust out of the electrical panel and motors.
- Check the safety system by testing your e-stops and door switches.
- Order any spare parts you need ahead of the season. We hold a large stock of Javo and Martin Stolze parts and can easily source trimmer parts from Lanz and Pack TTI
